There is no substitute for genuine Velcro-brand loop with 3M acrylic adhesive. It adheres well to composite and plastic canoes and kayaks, is very water and heat resistant, and won't "wrinkle" the way nylon/polyamide loop Velcro with rubber-based adhesive does. Adhesive YKK SNAD Snap studs allow you to use snap-attachment accessories without drilling into your boat to rivet a standard snap stud. They attach with 3M VHB adhesive tape that’s already applied to the back of the SNAD snap.  These SNAD snaps are 25mm in diameter and rigid black plastic. They’re best for smooth surfaces with minimal curvature. If you can place a quarter on the boat in the location you want to apply the SNAD and the quarter lays flat on the surface, the 25mm rigid SNADs should work well. 

Adhesive YKK SNAD Snap studs allow you to use snap-attachment accessories without drilling into your boat to rivet a standard snap stud. They attach with 3M VHB adhesive tape that’s already applied to the back of the SNAD snap.  These SNAD snaps are 25mm in diameter and have a stainless stud attached to a flexible, clear base. They’re best for contoured or moderately curved surfaces and surfaces with mild texture (like the inside of a composite canoe or kayak).  Note: The base appears red in the photographs because the backing on the 3M VHB tape is red plastic film which is removed during installation. 

Accidents happen; be prepared with this light weight, basic patch kit.  Small holes and cracks are quickly and easily prepped and sealed with the included utility cloth, alcohol wipes, and 4”x4” hydro tape patches, all vacuum sealed into a flat, waterproof kit. To use, simply dry the repair area with the cloth, clean it with the alcohol wipe, peel the backing from the patch and apply it to the repair, and then rub the patch firmly onto the hull.  The hydro tape adheres to wet surfaces and has a 1.5mm thick layer of adhesive to seal and conform to the damaged surface.  The RedLeaf Crew usually has one patch kit in a PFD pocket and another taped under the canoe seat or kayak deck.  Note: The tape may be clear or black, depending on what our supplier has in stock. Both colors perform equally well.

Low-profile Daisy Chains are a great way to secure or tether gear in your canoe, offering increased stability and preventing items from shifting in rough water or during a capsize. We often combine them with our Cargo Ladders to hold down portage packs and barrels, but they're also fantastic for floatation air bags, smaller gear dry bags, coolers, and anything else that you need to secure.  The webbing loops are soft and collapsible, preventing damage to gear and feet, but also strong enough to withstand the most demanding expeditions and adventures.  They're easily installed with vinyl-compatible adhesives (we recommend HH-66 vinyl adhesive for composite, T-formex, and Royalex canoes) and don't require drilling or hardware. 

A replacement drawcord assembly for the Original Bag Lady Canoe Cover. The assembly includes 1/8" braided polyester cord and one cord lock. The draw cord can be cut to length after assembly.  Canoes under 16 feet in length receive 30 feet of cord and canoes 16 to 18-1/2 feet long receive 36 feet of cord. If your canoe is longer than 18-1/2 feet, please contact us to ensure that you receive the right length of cord.

Your headlamp.What do all of those things have in common?  You want to access them from your canoe seat without having to dig through a portage pack that is, no doubt, just out of reach. They're also the things that roll around in the bottom of the boat, getting wet and making portages look like you're cleaning up after a yard sale.  The Gunwale Bag, lovingly known around the shop as a JGB (Jeremy's Gunwale Bag), solves those problems. It easily attaches just below the gunwale with two strips of adhesive loop Velcro and adhesive YKK SNAD snaps. They come in two sizes, small and large. The small is about a liter in volume and is perfect for low-profile storage in racing canoes, pack canoes, and the tight bow of fast tandems. The large gunwale bag holds about 4 liters of stuff, easily swallowing a rain jacket, a water bottle, and a huge assortment of at-hand gear, plus has compression straps and attachment loops to tether gear that you don't want to lose.  Both sizes will keep gear secure during portages, so you can grab your pack, put your canoe on your shoulders, and go, without having to do a bunch of housekeeping, first.  We think the JGBs are pretty rad and hope you do, too.Housekeeping notes: The small JGB is only available in black. A set of 14-1/2 inch long, 1 inch wide, adhesive loop Velcro strips for Large Gunwale Bags or 9-1/2 inch long, 1 inch wide adhesive loop Velcro strips for Small Gunwale Bags. These can replace a worn out set or be used to outfit additional canoes so that a single Gunwale Bag can be used in multiple boats.
